ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
ReportingDevelop and prepare monthly management reporting package for Corporate segment including comparative and budget to actual analyses for Corporate departments and commentary for internal and external reporting.Coordinate monthly analysis and reporting of non-operating income and expense.
Develop process and manage annual budget and interim re-forecasts for 25+ Corporate departments.Coordinate distribution of Corporate department activity reports and supervise/provide support to department heads concerning expense analyses.Develop ad hoc analysis for Controller and CFO as required.
Monthly Accounting CloseParticipate in managing monthly close process, including distribution of close calendar and monitoring journal entry and reconciliation control checklists.Oversee allocation of Corporate charges and shared office overhead to operating segments.Review monthly activity and reconciliations for cash, prepaid assets, deferred and prepaid rents, and lease loss accounts.
Other ProjectsParticipate in integration of newly acquired entities.Participate in development of policies and procedures to support internal controls and efficient work flow.Assist with maintenance of chart of accounts.Manage/oversee special projects as requested.Interface with management, department leaders, internal and external auditors.
SKILLS REQUIRED:Ability to develop reporting for and analysis of financial data – including actual to prior year, forecast and budget comparisons Prior general ledger experience including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation process and closing process management.Excellent working knowledge of PC and network environment, word processing, database and spreadsheet software. Advanced knowledge of Excel required. Experience with Applix TM1 and Executive Viewer (or similar OLAP software) a plusStrong and practical working knowledge of accounting theory and practices, including exposure to foreign currency transactionsStrong analytical, accounting research and organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills Proven ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environmentDetail oriented and dependable
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in accounting requiredCPA required6-8 years experience, including supervisory responsibilities; some public accounting experience preferred
