Corporate Controller

Corporate Controller  

SUMMARY Centuria Corporation is a government contractor and as such all aspects of our financial systems are based on government regulations – the knowledge of which must be mastered prior to any engagement with Centuria. Our Controller will be responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations. Provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the company. Manages all administrative aspects of all government contract vehicles and associated reporting requirements. Assists in proposal development and all pricing. This person will be an immediate line counsel to the President and CEO in all corporate decision making.  Immediately, we need someone that will be heads-down in the books to make sure we have all the financial information we need, but over time this role wqill increase in responsibility dramatically.  We're looking for someone that has the ability to think strategically and look into the future because as we continue to grow this position will shift to a CFO role where you will help steer company decisions at the highest levels. 

We're seeking an expert in their field without doubt, but we're also seeking someone that will fit in and become a member of the Centuria family.  This person needs to be a good personality fit with the office staff and company officers before they'll be asked to join.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include budgeting, tax planning and conservation of assets. - Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the company (Deltek GCS and Time Collection). - Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements. - Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry. - Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports. - Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures. - Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards. - Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations. - Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards. - Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems. - Assist in obtaining the necessary licenses and insurance required to maintain the business. - Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas. - Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. - Serve on planning and policy-making committees. - Manage corporate pricing for all government work - Manage administrative aspects of all government contracts, including all required reporting. - Manage administrative aspects of all commercial contracts with subcontractors and where Centuria is the subcontractor. - Lead the effort to obtain new GSA and other government wide access contracts. - Support new proposals by developing pricing and in many cases solely developing the entire Pricing Volume. - Manage relationship with lender(s), negotiate ever better lines of credit, and support all reporting required by lender. Support and in some cases lead the analysis of potential acquisitions. - Contribute and in some cases lead annual planning (fiscal and overall business planning). ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Represent the company externally to media, government agencies, funding agencies, and the general public. - Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate future department staff.

 

 

Requirements

 

 

 

- Mastery of government accounting standards. - Mastery of Deltek GCS and Time Collection - Eight (8) or more years working as a Controller for a government contractor of at least $10 million in size but not larger than $100 million in size. - Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting, ten years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, and a CPA. - Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. - Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. - Detailed knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. - Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. - Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. - Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. - Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills - Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule. - Familiarity with DCAA Audits and Incurred Cost Submissions as well as GSA Audits - Expertise with the FAR, CAS, and JTR WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and occasional travel.
