Corporate Tax Accountant
Essential Job Functions:
The Corporate Tax Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Tax Director in the preparing, documenting, recording, and reporting of the income tax provision.
In this role the Corporate Tax Accountant will provide critical support for the tax accounting and reporting process and will work closely with the entire corporate accounting staff. This position will support tax accounting and financial reporting (FAS 109 and FIN 48) including: gathering tax provision data, performing account analyses and tax reconciliations, implementing and maintaining tax provision software, updating FIN 48 analyses, assisting in the preparation of tax disclosures and footnotes, maintaining provision documentation and SOX testing.
Responsibilities will depend on experience, priorities, and project requirements.
The Corporate Tax Accountant provides a critical role in supporting the Tax Department and is responsible for:
Assisting with FAS 109 and FIN 48 accounting and reporting requirements;
Coordinating and working effectively with corporate accounting personnel as well as outside tax providers to understand, identify, educate, and implement necessary revisions and modifications to the Company's tax provision;
Identifying and driving tax provision process efficiencies.
Qualifications/Requirements:
v 2-5 years relevant tax experience within public accounting and/ corporate environments;
v Federal corporate income taxation experience;
v Knowledge of federal income tax rules and financial reporting requirements (FAS 109 and FIN 48);
v Sales and use tax experience;
v Possess an understanding and appreciation for the role and importance of the preparation, documentation, and reporting of the income tax provision;
v Excellent Excel skills and other systems knowledge and skills including Oracle, CorpTax, and FastTrac109;
v BS/BA required. CPA designation is a plus.
