Cost Accountant

LISI Aerospace, manufacturer of Aerospace Fasteners, in The City of Industry, CA. is seeking a Cost Accountant to support the Plant Controller in reporting and tracking of all production costs.  Interface with personnel in all areas of the facility and develop a solid understanding of the production process and work flow.  Performs month-end closing tasks and cost analysis, compile financial reports, perform general ledger account reconciliations, and supports plant controller.

Duties include:

 

§         Coordinates, compiles, and analyzes financial information for the organization – such as operating budgets, costing standards, manufactured product costs, variance reporting and analysis, and ERP system administration. 

 

§         Analyzes, designs, documents, and implements internal financial reporting and control systems and procedures.

 

§         Coordinates and support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance activities and internal/external audits.

 

§         Compiles the facility’s month-end financial reporting package.

 

§         Assist with capital appropriations financial analysis as well as track and close capital projects.

 

§         Reviews Expense Reports to ensure compliance to Company policy and submit to AP for reimbursement.

 

§         Prepares month-end journal entries with complete supporting documentations for approval.

 

§         Works with and assists Managers with financial questions and reviews.  Prepares explanations and guidelines to eliminate confusion and suggests improvements to increase cost effectiveness.

 

§         Assists in the preparation of the annual operating budget.

 

§         Cross-train with others in the department to provide constant support of critical Accounting functions.

 

§         Responsible for completion of all Government surveys.

 

§         Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.  Minimum 2 years experience in a general ledger or cost accounting role in a manufacturing environment. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.  Proficiency with an ERP system required.  Lawson or Movex M3 experience is a big PLUS.
