Cost Accountant Staff

  The Analyst will have a broad range of responsibilities in the Manufacturing and Materials Organizations (the Organizations). Key responsibilities and associated required competencies are outlined below: 1. Abilities to review and assess complex business processes in the Organizations. Identify and eliminate non-value added activities.2. Perform accurate analysis and reconciliation of various accounts to include Cost of Sales, PPV and production/materials variance analysis.3. Ability to grasp and understand transaction flows to include material movements (procurement, manufacturing, creation of inventory, shipment to customers), as well as interpreting production orders, activity in internal orders, and the related SAP accounting entries generated. Required Core Competencies:·  Background in the review and assessment of complex business process and critical internal controls supporting those processes.·  An appreciation and understanding of internal controls. Provide leadership and guidance in this area to the Organizations.·  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to perform complex financial analysis and provide user friendly reports to customers.·  Ability to work independently as well as to partner with cross-functional teams to review and access key business processes.·  Demonstrate the skills required to effectively communicate across all levels within the organization.·  Strong writing skills are essential. Ability to understand and clearly document key business processes, providing assessments of critical weaknesses in these processes and providing value added improvements that benefit the organization.·  Exposure to processes in Manufacturing and Procurement are a distinct advantage.  Experience Requirements:·  Previous experience in Cost Accounting·  ERP experience with exposure to the Accounting, Production, and Logistics modules.·  ERP implementation experience strongly preferred.·  The position requires the knowledge of accounting theory and knowledge generally associated with the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Finance or Accounting experience of at least 6 years demonstrating the candidate’s knowledge and skills in the assessment of and reporting on internal controls and business processes.·  Ability to work independently in an intense and dynamic work environment as a team player is also essential.·  Strong skill-sets using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
