Cost Accounting Supervisor

Cost Accounting Supervisor/ Senior Accountant  30-107215

 

The Cost Accountant will do minor accruals; identify areas where standards and materials can be improved, handle the fixed asset system, and the journal entries for the company. The position is located in Downers Grove, IL and will report directly to the Controller.

 

ResponsibilitiesFormulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to company policies and goals.Calculates individual items such as labor, material, and time costs.Calculates relationship of sales or revenues to cost, and overhead expenditures.Examines records such as time and production sheets, payroll, operations charts and schedules, to obtain data for calculations.Records cost data for use by management in controlling expenditures.Conducts and analyzes audits of cost and prepares reports.Determines and installs cost accounting methods and procedures.Analyzes actual costs versus standard costs and prepares reports of variances.Computes cost value of work in process for inventory purpose.Compiles cost data for preparation of opening budgets.Prepares reports showing total cost, selling prices, or rates profits.Analyzes invoices and PO's.Accounts Payable duties.Reconciles accounts.

 

RequirementsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsStrong analytical skills and a desire to learn are requiredBachelor's Degree in Accounting and experience in a manufacturing environment using a standard cost systemStrong organizational skills and professionalism required To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience in Accounting software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.At least 5 years of accounting experience
