JOB DESCRIPTION

Ruchman currently seeks an Accounting Clerk II to serve on its contract with the Department of Justice/Drug Enforcement Administration. Accounting Clerks rely on their double-entry bookkeeping skills to perform simple, routine accounting clerical operations. Tasks of an ACII include, but are not limited to:
Posting actions to journals Identifying subsidiary accounts affected by debit and credit entries Preparing documents to adjust accounting classifications and other data Reviewing lists of rejected transations to identify reasons for rejection then preparing corrective materiels.
On routine assignments, employee selects and applies established procedures and techniques independantly. Detailed instructions provided for difficult or unusual assignments. Completed work and methods used are reviewed for technical accuracy. Employee will be trained on FFS (Federal Financial System) for accounting input.

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping Posting experience Ability to identify and correct erroneous postings Familiarity with basic accounting principles Ability to prepare documents to adjust accounting classifications and other data Able to review rejected transactions, determine reasons for rejections and prepare necessary correcting material.

Other skills: Eye for detail, speed and accuracy, analytical ability, dependable, self-managed.
