DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

This DIRECTOR OF FINANCE position is responsible for financial processes, controls, and compliance together with consolidated financial reporting, for the Controls Group with operations in Santa BarbaraESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned. Lead the Controls monthly close and consolidations process. Responsible for accurate financial statements and rigorous financial controls Communicate and monitor compliance with financial policies and reporting requirements. Provide hands on controller support and reporting to local Santa Barbara operation Provide financial reporting and analysis to corporate management team Involved in detailed complex journal entries, account analysis, reconciliations, and variance analysis Lead and develop a team of financial associates. Manage the yearly budgeting process for Controls Prepare accurate monthly forecasts Assist functional areas in identifying and carrying out business initiatives to improve profits, reduce costs, and improve the efficiency of all processes Prepare reports that outline the company’s financial position in the areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and future operations. Analyze and report variances. Provide input for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state and local corporate, payroll and other applicable taxes. Implement DBS tools to drive improvements in time, accuracy and resources required. Constantly look for "best practices" concepts to be implemented throughout Controls. Serve as a technical resource for accounting related issues.QUALIFICATIONS: Strong knowledge of GAAP is required. Working knowledge of consolidations and financial statement preparation. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task. Must be very detail oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision. Good project management skills. Proficiency with Hyperion and Oracle desireable Strong PC skills, particularly in ExcelModerate travel may be requiredEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. MBA is a plus. CPA is highly desired.
