DescriptionSummary: This position reports to the VP Controller and Compliance Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day management of our Accounting Services Department. Responsibilities include direction of and accountability for the General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets Departments. Additional responsibilities include coordination of company audits, providing support and reporting for corporate borrowings, gathering and reporting of restructuring activities, and supporting management requests. The Assistant Controller will also be critical in the preparation and documentation of the Company's polices and procedures, performing accounting research, assisting in the standardization of all the company policies and procedures and assisting in due diligence activities. Essential Job Duties Provide continual direction and support for the General Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets functions. Direct the department managers in monthly closing activities. Prepare periodic schedules to support financial statements and other internal/external requirements. Serve as a liaison for external, internal, and lender audits. Play substantive role in attaining quality internal and external accounting deliverables. Evaluate and monitor the adequacy of corrective actions taken to improve control deficiencies. Draft, issue and assist in the implementation of company polices and procedures. Advise field management regarding accounting policies and practices. Prepare special reports/analyses for management. Identify and assist in documenting existing controls, policies & procedures to support SOX.
