We wish to supplement our accounting team with a strong leader, who has experience in a rapid growth environment where the individual has played a key role in the development of staff, business systems and processes. The successful candidate will have a combination of hands-on experience and strategic vision, and should be a  self-starter with critical thinking skills combined with a high-energy personality and a personal sense of flexibility and humor to take his/her responsibility to a new level. This position will work closely with the Corporate Controller in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial statements, internal controls, and business information systems. Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review all internal and external financial statements and analyze management results as prepared by the Accounting team for compliance with US GAAP. Manage the activities of the Accounting team during month end close. Provide direction and support as needed. Recap potential exposures items with the Corporate Controller.  Interact with internal audit and the independent public accounting firm on quarterly and annual reviews including SOX matters.
• Responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting all accounting and reporting regulations issued by the various authoritative accounting organizations. Perform technical research and prepare or review position papers on various regulatory matters that affect the Company’s accounting and reporting treatment. 
• Lead the Accounting Team of 4 direct, manager-level reports and additional indirect reports in General Accounting (including Consolidations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, & Fixed Assets), Payroll and Stock Administration, and the Revenue and External Reporting group. Work with team members to prioritize competing priorities in an exciting and challenging environment.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and career guidance for the accounting team.  Manage and develop the Accounting team through performance management, skill development, cross training and succession planning. 
• Represent the Accounting team by taking the lead on technical accounting and compliance aspects of business issues while working on multi-faceted and challenging projects that impact the future growth of Align. Manage diverse projects in various stages to problem solve complex issues and drive results. Provide leadership in a fast paced environment by setting objectives, planning project steps and required resources, and manage execution.
• Key member in the review and implementation of financial system initiatives, such as our billing and revenue management system, and the planning of an ERP system. Evaluate recurring monthly procedures and other areas of responsibility looking for process and control improvements and implementing scalable processes.
• Maintain, update or develop corporate policies and SOX processes, as required, to ensure compliance and recommend operational and/or control improvements. Education and Experience:
• BS in Accounting or equivalent is required.
• Certified Public Accountant with an “active” status preferred.
• 8- 12+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience in publicly held companies.
• Big 4 or public accounting experience required.
• SEC reporting experience in managing the compilation of 10Qs and 10Ks, including writing the business  and management’s discussion and analysis sections, as well as, preparing financials and determining disclosure requirements.
• Managing 5+ years of technical, manager-level staff.
• Recent experience in evaluating accounting pronouncements and position papers.
• Strong understanding of billing and revenue management systems and fully integrated ERP systems.
• Highly motivated, detail oriented and team oriented.
• Strong understanding of integrated systems.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to identify and initiative process improvements.
• A self-starter that interprets issues from a global impact perspective.
