Director of Asset Management (Credit & Collections)

Purchasing Power is an Entrepreneur Magazine 2008 Hot 100* consumer finance company located in the Virginia Highlands area of midtown Atlanta.  We seek a Director of Asset Management to manage a growing portfolio of consumer installment receivables.  This individual will oversee the daily credit and collections activity on consumer accounts to improve cash flow and reduce delinquent receivables.  They will be responsible for identifying initiatives and programs that will drive improvements in the underwriting process, the portfolio performance, and the collections effort.  They will also prepare and provide accurate statistical and accounting data and reports.  This position will report to the VP of Finance and ultimately be responsible for loss performance.

 

Qualified candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of five years in a public accounting, consumer finance, banking, credit management, and/or loan underwriting environment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Work with senior management to improve risk management systems and strategiesDevelop and implement tracking systems, statistical models, risk criteria, and credit attributes to influence underwriting criteria, credit limit policy, and account acquisition and collection strategiesReview and forecast portfolio performance, loss rates and reserves Measure portfolio yield and profitability (including static loss pools) and implement enhancements to improve collection performance


 QUALIFICATIONS:Thorough knowledge of credit and collection laws/regulations including but not limited to the Fair Credit and Reporting Act, FACTA, Fair Debt Collection Practices, and bankruptcy proceedingsPrevious management experience leading a team of 8+ professionalsAbility to exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight timelines  Strong mathematical and analytical skillsExceptional organizational and communication skills  Mastery of the MS Office Professional suite with excellent Excel skillsAbility to query Oracle Database via SQL statements a plusAbility to think strategically and tactically

 

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  5 - 7 years of experience in financial and data analysis, credit/portfolio management, and/or loan underwriting, preferably consumer financeBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics MBA preferred but not necessary Experience with Oracle Financials a plus
