This is a role that offers broad accounting experience, as you will work closely with all our different businesses to analyze the financial reporting impact of transactions, new accounting standards and understand drivers behind our operating results.

Primary Function:
You will direct our quarterly SEC reporting process, working closely with Legal and Investor Relations on Earning Releases and SEC Reports. You will be a technical accounting resource for our operations accounting groups throughout the company. In addition, you will work extensively with our Legal, Investor Relations, Planning, Tax and Human Resource teams, along with the entire accounting team located throughout the U.S. Enjoy the opportunity to work closely with our Controller and at times with our VP-Chief Accounting Officer and other Plum Creek VP's.

Oversees the preparation and review of the financial statements and footnotes for filings with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and our shareholders, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and Annual Reports.

Review complex transactions to determine appropriate treatment by researching and interpreting US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.

Manage our external auditors and coordinate the annual audit and quarterly reviews. Company-wide responsibility for management's annual assessment of our internal accounting controls, including coordinating the documentation and testing of all key accounting controls (SOX). Participates in the quarterly evaluation of internal accounting and disclosure controls. Responsible for insuring the proper accounting for our long-term incentive plans, including stock options, value management awards, restricted stock units, etc.

Evaluate changes to U.S. accounting standards for their impact on our financial reporting requirements and related disclosures. Lead and mentor accounting staff on complex accounting issues. Manage our annual employee benefit plan audits. Works closely with the Investor Relations and Planning teams by providing financial data and analysis. Assist accounting directors, chief accounting officer and other executives with special projects.

Education: Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business required. Masters degree in Accounting/Finance, Economics or related discipline (strongly preferred). Professional certification (e.g. CPA) required.

Experience: A minimum of ten years experience in connection with the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.

Significant experience researching and documenting authoritative accounting for complex and technical accounting transactions, including presentation of conclusions to external auditors and senior management. Significant experience associated with the review and evaluation of internal accounting controls.

Substantial experience in the audit function of a large public accounting firm and/or experience in financial reporting at a publicly-traded company.

Specific Skills: Expert understanding of US GAAP accounting, financial reporting and SEC rules and regulations, including experience researching complex accounting transactions. Advanced presentation and writing skills.

Proven project management skills and the ability to successfully build and lead teams. Significant experience and success coaching and developing accounting staff.

Strong computer software skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of accounting software packages, experience with Lawson and Hyperion is preferred.
