Director of Procurement

Texas Medical Center offers its employees a comprehensive and very rich benefits package and competitive pay.  We are currently seeking a Director of Procurement.  The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills along with the ability to drive process improvement. Function will:

 

·  Direct and manage the procurement of materials, equipment, supplies, and services

 

·  Oversee the corporation’s bidding and procurement process to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures and exercise the professional standards and purchasing-related legislation

 

·  Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers

 

·  Manage inventory and assets

 

·  Oversee the execution of high volume purchase orders and contracts

 

·  Work with the legal departments and other groups to minimize contractual risk and fraud

 

The Director of Procurement must be comfortable with meeting customer needs and performing complex evaluations, often under tight timelines.  Strong experience in employee coaching skills and the ability to develop staff and mentorship programs is essential. 

 

·  Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business, or related field, Ten years experience in purchasing, materials management and/or contract administration. Must have professional certification.
