Director of SOX & Policies-Broward CountyMajor Corporation located in Broward County is seeking a highly qualified Director of SOX for their organization.  The candidate will have strong experience in the Public Accounting Industry focusing on publicly held clients.  This is a tremendous opportunity for somebody at the manager or senior manager to make the transition away from the public accounting world.  Potential positions succeeding this role include Corporate Controller, Finance Operations and Regional VP of Finance.Description & Responsibilities:*Develop, training and communication of corporate-wide accounting policies*Corporate-wide compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements*Manage external audit relationship with respect to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements*Implement and maintain software for documentation of Sarbanes-Oxley testing*Heavy interaction with all levels of the company including senior management*Assist with special projects as assigned related to accounting, financial reporting and internal control activities Requirements:*Degree in Accounting *CPA*Public Company/SEC filing experience*8-15 years experience   Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
