Director of Tax - Newly Created Position

Our client, a fortune 10 company is searching for a professional Tax Director to implement tax strategy across a division on a world wide level. Reporting to the CFO, this position will be responsible for all tax-related issues, and will be a key member of the senior management team.  This new and highly visible position has been created as a result of tremendous growth and will provide an excellent platform to future growth within the company.  Very competitive compensation package and desirable east coast (coastal) location. 

Responsibilities:Establish tax policies and proceduresSupervise implementation of tax programs, and sponsor other tax initiatives in response to external tax environmentAdvise and council business leaders on tax matters and considerationsEstablish internal policies and procedures for reporting of taxes, payment of liabilities, conducting tax audits, and overall management of tax risks and opportunitiesAct as key tax contact for other divisions and external parties

QualificationsJD law degree and/or CPA certificate or other professional licenseMinimum of 10 years of experience as a full-time tax professional, including extensive experience with multi-state and multi-national tax mattersMinimum of 5 years of experience with tax-related financial accounting principlesMinimum of 5 years of experience working with governmental officials and agencies on tax-related matters and with external auditors on multi-state/multi-national tax mattersExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsProven experience managing multiple tax professionalsStrong technical knowledge of tax law and regulationsProven ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve tax-related risks and opportunities.
