Divisional Controller

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Performs a variety of procedures to assist in the accurate reporting of financial information, manages staff and senior accountant employees, and performs special financial projects as directed by the Corporate Controller.  Heathcare experience A+.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

· Oversees month-end account balancing and reconciliations and journal entry development

· Performs monthly analysis of accounts receivable collectibility employing both qualitative and quantitative methods

· Compares month-end balances to budget and to historical run rates and provide explanations for significant variances

· Ensures that the month-end close process is complete

· Reviews workpapers prepared by staff that support month-end balances

· Oversees billing and collection processes of assigned entities

· Prepares or reviews daily/weekly sales, cash collection or other reports as assigned

· Reviews invoice coding to ensure proper classification

· Assists external auditors during the year end audit and quarterly reviews by providing schedules, explanations, supporting materials and other necessary data

· Maintains records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material; updates records as necessary

· Recommends, designs, documents and implements any necessary departmental controls and procedures

· Performs personnel reviews for assigned staff and/or senior accountants, provides feedback that will lead to improved employee performance

· Delegates tasks to staff and senior accountants, as required

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

 

· Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in Accounting or related major, and five to seven years of accounting experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, CPA Required, Public experience combined w/ Corporate, Healthcare background A+
