This practice offers a diverse portfolio of industry-specific solutions in response to our clients' ever-changing regulatory, technology, operations and compliance needs.   The Utilities Regulatory Consulting group within Deloitte & Touche can help clients develop and deploy an integrated program for identifying, measuring, controlling, and monitoring compliance risks. Our group includes former regulators and professionals with years of experience, including affiliate transactions and rate case preparation and assistance and strategy.   Our practitioners in the regulated utilities segment serve a variety of organizations in a variety of ways. Whether providing testimony on behalf of an investor-owned utility regulated by a state's public utility commission, or advising a utility about wholesale transactions regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), our knowledgeable and experienced practitioners are ready to assist our clients.   Key regulatory concerns remain in areas such as: • Codes of conduct and affiliate standards • Cost allocations • Capital asset cost recovery • Performance-based rate making • Federal and state regulatory trends and developments • Accounting developments affecting regulated operations • Mergers & acquisitions • Tax • Unbundling • Stranded costs • Energy transacting • Energy efficiency • Energy conservation   Responsibilities include: • Contribute to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel • Understand engagement as it relates to client's business • Demonstrate knowledge in some areas of industry or functional specialty • Contribute to engagement planning and ensuring that products/deliverables meet contract/workplan • Deliver services that meet Deloitte & Touche task leader specifications • Recognize and communicate opportunities to sell "add-on" work to client • Contribute to a positive team attitude • BS in Accounting/Finance or other related field  • MBA in Finance or Economics preferred, not required • CPA is a plus • 3+ years related experience • Prior consulting experience is a plus • Prior utility industry, public utility commission, or utility consulting experience is a plus • Ability to communicate and work effectively with executive client management and staff members • Excellent written/verbal communications and collaboration skills • Ability to travel more than 50% • Practice is headquartered in Austin, Texas.About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
