Exciting Controller opportunity!!

Exciting, growing, and publicly traded, technology and design company is seeking a dynamic Regional/Group Controller to oversee the Western Region. 

Summary:  

 

The purpose of this position is to oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and finance activities of Group locations ensuring that all financial activities are in line with company goals and objectives, in compliance with accounting policies, in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.  The Group Controller also coordinates the gathering of information from all Location Controllers / Plant Accountants on a monthly basis as well as on an ad hoc basis for special requests.  The position is also responsible for assisting the Corporate Accounting Organization in designing, developing, implementing and recommending policies and procedures that achieve best practices in accounting controls and systems. 

 

Responsibilities of the job:

 Plans, organizes and directs the activities of Location Controllers / Plant Accountants including the closing of the location books, review of monthly financial statements and account reconciliations, general accounting, cost accounting and billing.Ensures that all established policies, rules, regulations and agreements are followed. Ensures that department processes and procedures are appropriately documented and followed.Provides management with accurate and timely information and reports necessary to make strategic, investment and/or operating decisions.Maintains responsibility for monthly, quarterly and year-end closings and the preparation of internal management reports (budget vs. actual vs. prior year).Coordinates at the Group level, the annual financial audit, annual internal controls assessment audit (Sarbanes-Oxley) and quarterly reviews by the public accounting firm.Coordinates at the Group level, the Annual Business Plan prepared by the various locations of the Group.Assists the Corporate Accounting Organization in designing, developing, implementing and recommending policies and procedures that achieve best practices in accounting controls and systems.

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required and CPA or Master’s Degree strongly preferred, CMA and/or other certifications preferred.

· At least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, 3 or more being at management level, experience with publicly-traded company preferred.

· Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

· At least 3 years experience with multi-location operation preferred.
