The Energy Markets Division is a global business with operations across Australia, Europe and North America.  The Division provides tailored risk management solutions to an international client base through Over The Counter Derivatives and Physical Commodities.  Products traded include Crude and Oil Products, Emissions, Wet Freight, Natural Gas, Electricity and Coal.

 

The Division is also pursuing an energy asset strategy in North America to align with its Gas and Electricity trading businesses.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

§ Preparation of monthly management reports or US businesses

§ Expense analysis, reporting and control

§ New business analysis – accounting treatment and implementation

§ Legal entity control

§ Preparation of Month-End File

§ Funding and FX management

§ Daily P&L analysis and support for trader queries

§ Month-end including: posting month end journals, review of intercompany balances

§ Month End and Intra-Month Rates Testing

§ Liaise and communicate with other internal departments where appropriate, in particular Front Office, Corporate

Reporting and Taxation.

 

Key skill requirments include:

 

§ Strong analytical skills

§ Strong IT skills

§ Clear communicator

§ Sound technical accounting skills
