Experienced Residential Property Accountant needed!

We are currently seeking an Experienced Residential Property Accountant for our client in the Orlando area.  Our client is the national leader in property management of multi-family, single family affordable rental housing communities.. This environment is professional and fast paced, but still maintains the feeling of a close knit work group. This position is responsible for analyzing and maintaining the monthly general ledger activity of their assigned portfolio. This position operates within and contributes to an environment that complies with Fair Housing laws. Essential Responsibilities   Due to the variation of the position, the Staff Accountant may be responsible for any of the following responsibilities: Analyze and maintain the monthly general ledger activity relating to the assigned portfolio Prepare and update schedules supporting G/L balances Prepare and update detailed schedules of fixed assets, prepare fixed assets addition/change forms and reconcile G/L balances to the balances in FAS Review AME packages received from properties Reconcile bank/trust accounts Prepare miscellaneous cash transfer forms when needed Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual flux analyses Communicate with property personnel in order to create an understanding of the financial statements and the underlying sources Provide detail relating to HUD compliance and reporting procedures Prepare surplus cash calculations and projections Prepare annual commercial budgets Perform annual CAM and escalation calculations Reconcile tenant improvement accounts Process credit and collection relating to commercial properties Prepare quarterly SPE reports Meet deadlines on projects relating to the property portfolio, and service tiers assigned Assist in the preparation of all pre- and post-REIT consolidated flux analyses Assist in the monthly consolidation process Assist in the review of year-end external financial statements Meet deadlines on projects relating to external audit both quarterly and annually Compile audit package at the end of the year Other responsibilities as requested by the Senior Staff Accountant or Lead Accountant Requirements A Bachelors degree in accounting or finance is absolutely required.  Candidates without a degree or with a degree in a discipline other than accounting or finance will not be considered for this opportunity. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must Well versed in general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, month and year end close.
