FINANCE MANAGER- INSURANCE PREMIUM AND LOSS CONTROLS AND ACCOUNTING - NORTHERN NJ - TO $100K + BONUS

Our client is a large Northern New Jersey Insurance Company. An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Finance Manager of Field Office Premium and Loss Controls and Accounting. Reporting to a Finance Director this position is responsible for a staff in controlling the accuracy of premiums and losses information reported to the general ledger. Duties and responsibilities include:

 Timely and accurate compilation of monthly premiums and loss results on a GAAP and STAT basis.Prepare monthly control/analysis and reconciliation schedules, including key accounts.Review general ledger reconciliations prepared by staff. Ensure that reconciling item corrections are research and corrected on a timely basis.Review and approve all monthly journal entries completed by staff.Ensure that GAAP, SEC, and STAT quarterly result for premium and losses are in balance with the general ledger. Preparation of quarterly and annual data for public reporting.Ensure Sox compliance and documentation.Maintain, update, and document departmental procedures.Supervise, train, and evaluate staff of three (3).

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

The ideal candidate would be a degreed accountant with 5-7 years related insurance industry accounting experience. CPA a plus. Candidates should have strong PC skills and be proficient with Excel and Word. Previous supervisory experience is required. Good communication skills are a must.
