FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

GM R*Works, an Experiential Marketing company (www.gmrworks.com) that is part of the Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG), seeks applications from experienced financial accountants for an accounting specialist position in its accounting office in Gaithersburg, Maryland (20879).  The position is immediately available and will report to the VP Controller.

Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversight and management of Company balance sheet, including WIP, Cash, and Accounts Receivable.Support VP, Controller in efforts to mentor, train, and develop full time accounting staffAssist VP, Controller with IPG financial reporting, including but not limited to, monthly Hyperion reporting and results review packages.Prepare monthly internal and external balance sheet variance reportsMaintain ownership of all balance sheet account reconciliations and demonstrate those reconciliations in IPG’s quarterly reporting tool.Responsible for ensuring that Solomon financial results are transferred to the IPG Hyperion Reporting Systems accurately, completely, and timely, including the monthly submission of financial and statistical data, balancing, and periodic maintenance in order to keep Hyperion and Solomon systems in balanceWork with the VP, Controller to handle all audits and quarterly reviews, including Sarbanes-Oxley, IPG, GM, and independent financial auditsSpecial projects as requested by management

Requirements

 Solid understanding of accounting, GAAP, and internal controls Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organizationMust have the ability to discretely and appropriately handle confidential informationProactive problem solving and issue resolution requiredStrong financial analytic skillsMinimum 8 years progressive financial accounting experience a mustBachelor's degree in accounting or related fieldCPA required
