Financial Administrator / Director of Finance

Located on the University of Maryland at Baltimore campus, near Camden Yards and Harbor attractions, University Physicians, Inc. (UPI) coordinates and supports the clinical activities of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. We employ over 900 non-physician staff who support the clinical practices of our faculty.

Currently, we are seeking a Financial Administrator / Director of Finance to provide outstanding service and support for our various physician practices.

Duties will include:  establishing and implementing Best Practice financial and accounting policies and procedures across UPI; defining performance standards to reduce financial and accounting variability across physician groups; collaborating with colleagues in the practices regarding financial and accounting standards; serving as a mentor to finance managers and accountants by offering coaching and assuring competency and accountability; developing and assisting in the preparation of summary (UPI/PA wide) financial reporting; directing and coordinating all activities of the UPI PA Accounting group, with an emphasis on customer service, quality financial reporting, adherence to IRS and MSP policies and procedures, staff performance standards, process improvement; and other duties as assigned.

Qualified applicants will possess:  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Mgmt or related field from an accredited institution, three or more years experience in physician practice management, academic practice preferable , and five or more years in a supervisory role required.  Masters Degree and CPA preferred.
