SUMMARY OF KEY JOB FUNCTION:

 

The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting management with accurate, organized information for use in decision making.  The Financial Analyst is a part of the Finance team which is responsible for recording the financial and operational performance of the company and providing data which enables the business to operate more efficiently.

Strong analytical skillsCollege education (B.A., B.S. or higher) is required
Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint Must have 1-2 years of public accounting experienceExperience with profitability analysis and related key drivers, financial modeling, and scenario analysis Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to the VP/CFO level Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management Intermediate understanding of general accounting, including financial statement review and analysis Ability to multi-task, set priorities and work with minimal direction Excellent organizational and project management skills Works well in a cross functional team environment Pro-active work ethic and strong initiative Must develop a solid understanding of the operating processes and time sensitivity surrounding the budget/forecast, month-end close and monthly operational metrics reporting cyclesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Provide key decision support analysis for business partners related to new business initiatives and process improvements Analyze and monitor peer benchmarking and other industry studies Analyze and explain monthly variances to budget for the financial statements and key operating metrics Assist in the preparation of management reporting to support senior management, Board of Directors, and outside investors Prepare ad hoc financial models to assist in short-term forecast and key financial metrics Assist with data gathering and analysis related to the budget/forecast process, both revenue and expense. Generate daily, monthly, and quarterly metrics reports, both financial and operational Track and reconcile monthly financial results vs. budget and forecast Generate and present monthly financial reports for management. Research key variances in budget vs. actual expenses and communicate this information to senior management Prepare financial and business related analyses and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital and investments. Develop integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations. Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensure financial information has been recorded accurately. Manage projects and perform financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts All other duties as assigned
