Financial Analyst

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for performing financial analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual operating results of operating subsidiaries.  Other primary functions include assistance with preparation and filing of certain SEC reports and support of internal and external audit functions. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

¨ Prepare detailed analysis of consolidated and subsidiary results of operations.  Includes analysis of quarter over quarter, year over year and budget versus actual results.

¨ Assist with the monthly close, review and analysis.  Provide clear and accurate reporting of variances, business performance and key drivers

¨ Primary assistance to corporate controller and subsidiary controllers in preparation of the annual budget.

¨ Prepare various periodic reports and provide analysis of information presented

¨ Prepare SEC filings such as quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, Annual Report on Form 10-K, periodic reports on form 8-K, and other SEC reports as needed

¨ Provide ad-hoc financial analysis, project support, and actively participate in driving process, system utilization, and reporting improvements

¨ Anticipate and identify business issues for management and develops appropriate action plan to maximize business profitability

¨ Work closely with corporate controller and subsidiary controllers to support quarterly internal audit functions, including maintenance of SOX documentation, production of documents required by internal auditors and performing certain internal audit testing when necessary.  

¨ Support corporate controller and subsidiary controllers in working with independent auditors.  Includes preparation of schedules and analyses required by external auditors for completion of quarterly review and annual audit of financial statements.

¨ Support corporate and subsidiary level information technology applications related to accounting and finance.

¨ Assist with special projects as assigned 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

 

¨ Minimum qualifications are a four-year accounting degree. Masters degree and/or CIA or CPA certification preferred, prior audit experience and SOX experience a plus

¨ Minimum 5 years of related experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment

¨ SEC reporting experience

¨ Crystal report writing experience preferred 





¨ Solid understanding of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and reporting processes with strong analytical skills

¨ Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, knowledge of Solomon and MAS accounting software a plus
