Financial Analyst II

BASIC PURPOSEResponsible for assisting with the Bank’s financial reporting operations to ensure accurate and timely reports and disclosures in accordance with FHFB policies, SEC requirements and generally accepted accounting principles.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Prepares monthly and quarterly financial reports and related analyses for Bank management, the Federal Housing Finance Board and the Office of Finance 2. Prepares daily and monthly interest income/expense analyses. Researchesvariances in the accounts as necessary. 3. Answers accounting related issues, policies, and problems from executive management, accounting staff, the FHFB, and external auditors. 4. Researches regulatory requirements and generally accepted accounting principles to ensure that the Banks’ reports and disclosures are in compliance. 5. Researches, develops and documents financial reporting policies, procedures and controls. Recommends process improvements to management. 6. Assists in the preparation of the annual, quarterly and periodic reports to the SEC. 7. Supports other members of the financial reporting unit. 8. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS1. Bachelors degree in Accounting.2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.3. 5+ years of related experience. SEC reporting and financial institution experience required. Public accounting experience preferred.4. Exposure to FAS 133 preferred.5. Working knowledge of computers and PC software packages, such as spreadsheets, database languages, word processor, General Ledger Accounting System software, and Intrader financial software.6.
