Financial Analyst - West Suburbs of Chicago

Position Summary

Develop, communicate and report on daily, weekly and monthly operating metrics that will drive business unit performance including revenue, contribution, EBIT and DSO.

Provide senior leadership with insight and recommendations that will maximize profitability and cash flow.

Establish relationships within the business, corporate and other business units that promote idea sharing, elimination of redundancy, establishment of common goals and results in maximization of profitability for the company.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

50% Forecasting Process:

Establish forecasting process including templates, timetable and ongoing communication that encompass all income statement line items.
Incorporate cash flow forecasting

Understand existing operational dashboards and processes that can be leveraged

Measure variances and establish forecast accuracy criteria

30% Monthly Close Process and Operating Reviews:

Complete close within 3-5 business days, continually work on process improvement to increase timeliness

Detailed P&L variance documentation in preparation for the monthly Controller’s call

Generate timely and accurate financial/operational reporting to senior leadership

Facilitate monthly financial reviews at the program level and review results with program managers and senior
leadership

Identify exposure and opportunities to enhance profit and improve cash flow within the business unit

10% Budgeting Process:

Complete detailed budgets by program

Documentation and communication of all key assumptions

Diligently work with program managers and key leadership within the business unit as well as corporate and other related business units

Finalize measurable goals and commitments within multiple levels of the business unit

10% Ad-hoc reporting and special projects

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting

2+ years related experience

Excellent communication and analytical skills

Ability to exercise independent judgment

Self-starter

Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Experience with People soft and Hyperion Enterprise/Essbase a plus
