Position Description:

Primary ReponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and footnotes for SEC Reporting (10q and 10k)Consolidation of foreign subsidiaries financial information into corporate financial systemsInteract with International division to ensure accurate reportingPreparation of the consolidated balance sheet and income statements utilizing Hyperion Essbase SystemProcess includes downloading legacy systems, data templates and JD Edwards G/L system results as well as supplemental data into the Essbase system, performing corporate consolidation eliminationPreparation of all consolidating and intercompany elimination entries. Review current processes and recommend improvementsCoordinate all GAAP adjustments with the foreign subsidiaries and ensure that differences between US GAAP and foreign are accounted forOther ResponsibilitiesUpdate and maintain SOX documentation for the Consolidation GroupMisc Reporting-i.e. US Census Bureau SurveysIdentify opportunities for process improvements or automation and then drive the implementation of the solutionSpecial ProjectsAcquisition accountingFinancial reorganizationsRecommend and implement improvements to current consolidations

Qualifications:

Job QualificationMust be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting principles, clear understanding of FAS52 and FAS133 and related international accounting issues5 to 7 years experience-Accounting degreeCPA pr MBA desiredFinancial reporting, including SEC reportingHyperion Essbase (report writing) preferredJDE One World experience preferredRequired CompentenciesStrong analytical skillsDetail orientedAbility to handle multi-tasksStrong interpersonal skillsScholastic Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.M/F/D/V
