The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), a not-for-profit alliance of 21 of the world’s leading cancer centers, is dedicated to improving the quality and effectiveness of care provided to patients with cancer. Through the leadership and expertise of clinical professionals at NCCN Member Institutions, NCCN develops resources that present valuable information to the numerous stakeholders in the health care delivery system. As the arbiter of high-quality cancer care, NCCN promotes the importance of continuous quality improvement and recognizes the significance of creating clinical practice guidelines appropriate for use by patients, clinicians, and other health care decision-makers. The primary goal of all NCCN initiatives is to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of oncology practice so patients can live better lives.
NCCN is seeking a full-time Fiscal Administrator, Grants to report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This position will be responsible for coordinating and performing comprehensive pre- and post-award financial budgeting, analysis and reconciliation related to financial administration of grants activity of the organization, with particular emphasis on consistent and timely grant preparation and reconciliation.
Major Responsibilities:Prepares budgets for all NCCN educational and other grant programs, including its Annual Conference and numerous regional programs.Prepares grant budget reconciliations on a timely basis to meet varying reporting requirements established by grantors.Develops and implements systems (both computer and workflow) surrounding the grant budget and reconciliation processes.Prepares and maintains written grant documentation with respect to duties entailed in conducting educational and other programs related to grants, budgeting methodologies, and cost allocation methodologies. Makes recommendations to internal accounting staff regarding the appropriate coding of revenues and expenses in the accounting system to ensure the accuracy of information needed for grant budgeting and reconciliation.Makes recommendations to streamline the extremely complex grant process, which involves nearly all NCCN departments. Works with grantors to determine feasibility of standardizing grant budget forms and reconciliations.Works with the organization’s CFO and external advisors to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations. Reports status of grant budgets and grant reconciliations to NCCN management.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education / Related Experience:The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree. At least five years' grants, contracts and financial experience. Graduate degree and / or CPA license strongly preferred.
Skills and Abilities:In-depth knowledge of grants administration and financial analysis.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to details. Strong verbal/written communication skills (a writing sample will be requested).Advanced computer skills, including database, Excel, and Word.Organizational ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal and external personnel at all levels of the organization.
