Fixed Assets Accountant

To help us continue driving their business forward, our client is in search of experienced, top-tier Fixed Assets Accountant, to join JDSU's Milpitas, CA Headquarters.This is a contract position and the pay for this position is based on a competitive market rate and interested candidates will submit their pay expectations.  Position Details:  Responsible for the day-to-day financial operations for assigned divisions/sites. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, timely asset and Construction in Process (CIP) capitalization, depreciation expense, month-end close, reconciliations, analysis, and roll forwards. Position also includes quarterly reporting as required. Provide leadership role in working with various levels of personnel to obtain required information in order to complete the above tasks. Provide strong customer service and accounting support to users. Ensure financial integrity and policy/SOX compliance. Carry out project assignments, as requested.Job Requirements: Bachelor degree in finance/accounting or equivalent work experience. Four to six years of related financial experience preferably with working knowledge of Fixed Assets. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as problem solving, detail orientation, multi-tasking, working independently, and deadline adherence. Experience using Oracle or other large-scale ERP software. Working knowledge of accounting theories and practices including GAAP and SOX compliance.
