Fixed Income Pricing Specialist

Our client, a top rated Los Angeles based investment management firm, is looking for someone to join their Pricing Team.  In addition to assisting with the valuation process, the individual will play a senior role within the data integrity group.

 

The Data Integrity group is responsible to verify and maintain all data related to securities processing in the firms recordkeeping system.  This includes security information, prices, ratings and other data required to accurately reflect the positions and generate transactions within the portfolios.  In addition, this group is responsible for designing checks and scrubs to ensure the ongoing integrity of data.

 

 Responsibilities Include:

· Set-up, review and maintain the securities within the accounting system

· Monitor all data feeds related to new and changing data as related to securities including CDS, Syndicated Loans and Bonds

· Design and develop proactive checks that ensure the accuracy of pricing as well as security characteristics

· Monitor and maintain pricing process in order to properly reflect the value of the positions within the firms portfolios

· Liaise between portfolio managers, traders and custodians for all security-specific activity and issues, ensuring cross-communication of critical information between firm departments

· Ensure all security data is accurate by periodic reviews and monitoring procedures.  Design new checks/reports as needed for changing characteristics of securities

· Discover, research and resolve discrepancies related to security data whether transactional (i.e. coupons, corporate actions, paydowns), or analytical in nature

· Understand the accounting impact of valuations on portfolios

· Resolve research issues related to data

· Participate in special projects such as technology advancements.

 

Qualifications Include:

· BS or BA in Finance, Accounting, or related a must

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Minimum two years of securities data management or pricing/valuation

· Strong fixed-income product knowledge, particularly bank loans, CLO’s, CDO’s variable rates securities, derivatives and fixed income securities

· Hedge fund or private equity experience a plus

· Strong organization and time management skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

· Team-oriented work ethic and a willingness to help others and share results of assigned projects with team members

· Knowledge of Markit, IDC and other pricing vendors required

· Experience with one of the following required: Wall Street Office, Advent Geneva, Thomson’s Portia system, CDO Suite and BB Trading

· Highly proficient in Bloomberg and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel – knowledge of formulae a must

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Access and BB API or other databases a plus.
