Key ResponsibilitiesThe Staff Accountant will be responsible for applying principles of accounting to prepare and analyze financial information and processes for the purpose of supporting financial reporting requirements. Principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:' Maintain the Firm's fixed asset accounting system, by tracking fixed asset purchases, ensuring proper categorization of assets, preparing depreciation entries, generating reports and reconciling the fixed asset system to the general ledger.' Develop a strong understanding of the accounting processes.' Work closely with offices to ensure the application of proper accounting policies and processes, successfully meet accounting related deadlines, and assist in developing the use of best practices.' Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and input general ledger entries.' Assist in the month end close process by preparing and analyzing balancing schedules related to balance sheet and income statement accounts.' Assist in the completion of quarterly projects, such as forecasting and financial reporting' Investigate and determine causes of irregularities and errors, and recommend corrective action to appropriate individuals.' Effectively plan and coordinate the successful completion of assigned projects.' Other duties as assigned. Qualifications' Bachelors degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent experience' Good oral and written communication skills.' Detail oriented.' Good organizational skills.'
