General Ledger Accountant Needed

Seeking a stellar and polished GL Accountant!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily:
-Analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of A/P coding and revenue and cost allocation.
-Responsible for entering and maintaining all fixed assets.
-Review and approve all A/R adjustment forms.
-Work independently on setting up recurring charges for all tenants to ensure all charges and rent steps are correct.
-Assist in researching, resolving and responding to all tenant correspondence.
-Review termination calculation reports and billings.

Monthly:
-Prepare monthly financial statements.
-Prepare monthly journal entries, including supporting documentation and appropriate descriptions.
-Record all monthly and year-end accruals.
-Analyze all balance sheet accounts and prepare detailed support schedules.
-Analyze and review monthly bad debt reserves.
-Prepare monthly tenant allowance payment schedules.-Calculate monthly management fees and prepare variance explanations of amounts over or under $5K.
-Review real estate tax invoices to ensure prompt payment and to verify general ledger coding and appropriate parcel allocation.
-Review monthly rent roll billings, percentage rent billings, and minimum rent variance schedules.
-Compute monthly lease prep/plan review fees and prepare invoices and payment requests.
-Prepare monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns.
-Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
-Attend and participate in monthly team meetings and weekly group meetings.

Quarterly:
-Prepare quarterly fixed asset roll-forward reports.
-Review quarterly average and effective minimum rent reports.
-Review and analyze quarterly straight-line rent reports.
-Depreciation analysis.
 
Annually:
-Attend annual financial review meetings and site tours.
-Prepare and analyze income statement and balance sheet fluctuation schedules for annual audit.
-Participate in annual budget meeting.
-Prepare and analyze common area maintenance and property tax rate adjustments.
-Assist in post-closing pro-ration adjustments and system set up for new entities.
-Prepare annual personal property tax returns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Four year degree (accounting or business administration preferred) or equivalent experience
Extensive experience with general ledgers
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Good oral and written communications skills
Ability to interact with many people in various departments
P.C. literacy (knowledge of Excel a plus)
Previous accounts receivable a plus
