Position Title: General and Tax Accountant

Job Scope:
This position is responsible for the preparation of account reconciliations, journal entries, and various reports. In addition, the position will be responsible for renewing business licenses and preparation of personal property tax returns ensuring compliance with legal and government regulations. This position reports directly to the Manager of Financial Reporting.

Essential responsibilities include:Obtain and renew business licenses Assess use tax for new and existing stores Prepare monthly sales tax returns Research and communicate rate changes to ensure compliance with regulations Maintain sales tax licenses for stores Manage external state sales and use tax audits Record, reconcile, and maintain records for fixed assets Assist with the coordination and update of internal control documentation Reconcile various general ledger accounts Positively represent the company culture through communications, behaviors, and actions Assist with preparation of management reports including analysis of results

Educational Requirements:Associate Degree or Above

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:1-3 years experience in general accounting or analysis Knowledge of accrual based accounting and financial statements Strong mathematical skills Detail oriented and accurate PC skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, and database proficiency Ability to learn and utilize full capabilities of financial and related systems Ability to work in a fast paced environment Demonstrated organizational and multi-tasking skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to express thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing
