Graphic/Multi Media Designer

The Indiana Department of Revenue is looking for a Graphic/Mulit Media Designer.  This is a PART-TIME POSITION, with a standard and maximum of 25 hours work time per week.  Candidate coordinates a large range of internal communication activities on behalf of the Department.  Position reports directly to the division director, but with dotted-line daily reporting to the Lead-Graphic Designer position.  POSITION PAYS $13.48/hour.   Duties include specifically:Follows style-guide standards --ensure use with all Department designs/layoutsForms - suggest layout concepts and coordinate design developmentForms- update and create multiple new print and online forms for various tax types Publications - work with the lead-graphic designer to develop/propose design concepts (Publications/Web)Serve as Web update backup for lead-graphic designer and Department Web MasterDevelop printing specs for procurement and work to share updates on projects as needed with the finance division Act as first-line review point for division on all printer proofsAttend press checks on smaller projectsAssist with editing still photos, concepting for photo and video shootsAssist with photo and video shoots  QualificationsHold or working toward a bachelor's degree or higher specifically in graphic design.1 year of direct experience - or equivalent in a combination of education and college internships Understanding of art principles and creationQuality design and layout experience - must be proficient in design layoutStrong knowledge of graphic-design software programs, specifically InDesign/PageMaker, Illustrator, PhotoShop, Macromedia, etc. Web-design/development experience preferred Working knowledge of the print production process and capability to conduct press checks on small projectsWorking knowledge of still and video camera equipmentStrong interpersonal skills and abilities

DIFFICULTY OF WORKCandidates' job will be broad in scope and require moderate judgment and small-scale project-management in applying graphic-design practices and techniques to a variety of ever-changing situations. Ability to manage multiple small-scale projects and deadlines and diverse situations with professional maturity is an absolute necessity. Candidate works closely with the lead graphic designer for direction and coordination of design layout. Work is reviewed regularly and closely for compliance with objectives and sound judgment.    PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS Good personal work relationships with co-workers, administrators, supervisors, and division director for the purposes of building and maintaining good rapport internally to support ongoing projects with various divisions is crucial to the success of this role.
