Job Description

Purpose:  
The Payroll/Human Resources Assistant will act primarily as the human resources support function to the organization assisting in various Human Resources functions as well as special projects and initiatives within the department. Payroll/Human Resources Assistant is responsible for administration of the entirety of the new hire process including, but not limited to, new hire paperwork processing, administrative duties, and benefits administration.  
 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees. Coordinates new hire paperwork, drug testing, employment physicals and background checks.Ensure personnel files are kept updated, compliant and secure Processes all new hire packets and new hire paperwork inputting into HRIS, Payroll and Time Clock Systems. Issues new hire numbers in time clock and scans employee's hand print. Shows employee how to use time clock.Coordinates new employee orientations at corporate office and start dates with department managers. Handles incoming calls to HR Department. Prepares employment verifications. Gather and copy documents for subpoenas and mail to respective partiesAssist employees with benefit questions and problems as needed. Sends out benefit packets upon eligibility and reviews benefits with employees. Scrubs apps and enters them into carrier system for enrollment.Order office suppliesOther duties as assigned by HR Manager.Required Qualifications:  
Education Requirements:  
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:  
1. One to two years experience in the HR field, OR  
3. Any similar combination of education and experience  
Experience Requirements:  
Must be able to multi task and maintain confidentiality. Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills, strong written and verbal communication, and proficiency in MS Office and Excel required. Prior experience with ADP pay export a plus.
