The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles, located in Santa Monica, is a seeking a Human Resources Assistant/Payroll Coordinator. Our Santa Monica campus is looking for an: Human Resources Assistant/Payroll Coordinator
Position Requirements:
• At least two years of progressive experience providing administrative support in a human resources office.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with some experience in database programs.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Superior communication skills, both written and oral to effectively communicate to all employee levels within the school and company. Professional telephone manner.
• Experience handling the scheduling of conference calls, meetings and events.
• Obligation to maintain confidential information with which this position may come into contact, and guard against the unauthorized access to or use of such information.
Key Job Elements and Position Summary:
• Provides customer service to employees and visitors to the HR Department, including answering payroll and benefit questions.
• Coordinates orientations, training sessions, meetings, and special events.
• Prepares, maintains and audits personnel files for completeness and compliance.
• Performs administrative duties including but not limited to word processing, creating and updating tracking spreadsheets, creating new employee packets, opens and distributes department mail, filing, photocopying, distributing memos, collecting signature approvals on documents, maintaining department forms and information, and ordering office supplies.
• Assists HR Director and Generalist with payroll as needed.
• Keeps Intranet Photobook up-to-date.
• Performs special projects as assigned such as: HRIS data entry, collation of large documents, data checking, etc.
