INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT

Catholic Knights, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is the second largest Catholic fraternal organization in the US with over $800 million in assets under management.  Founded in 1885, we are a Catholic membership organization focused on putting Catholic values into action-- through charitable outreach, scholarship programs, trusted financial products, and support for parishes and parish schools, as well as opportunities for members to participate in making a difference in their parishes and communities.

 

We are searching for an energetic, self-starter with in-depth knowledge of investment accounting and operations to be responsible for our investment accounting, internal controls and financial reporting. This individual will:

·  Assure the Society’s investment accounting is in compliance with regulatory and statutory accounting requirements.

·  Work closely with outside investment custodian and other third parties to assure timely receipt and proper recording of all investment transactions.

·  Develop and maintain statistical analytical data regarding investments and investment activity.

·  Provide support in conducting and documenting investment financial analysis projects and assists in the annual investment budget process. 

·  Monitor investment systems and resolve potential concerns to insure accuracy and consistency of investment accounting and reporting.

 

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and minimum 3 years of broad accounting or audit experience, preferably in an insurance environment.  Solid understanding of general investment concepts, functions and process is required.  Working knowledge of life insurance industry investment accounting preferred.  Strong computer skills with experience/proficiency in MS products, such as Excel, Access are necessary, while Principal Asset Management’s investment and reporting software, and the Sungard EAS system experience would be helpful.

 

The right person will have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving aptitude, be organized and able to work independently.
