(NYSE:MIG) is a publicly traded company that employs 670 associates in 18 offices throughout the United States, Bermuda and Barbados.  Meadowbrook operates insurance agencies, a risk management company that provides services to self-insured groups, funds and pools, and operates 4 domestic and 2 foreign insurance companies.  We are currently looking for a full time, Information Technology Auditor to work as part of our Internal Audit team in our Southfield, MI, corporate office.

 

This highly visible position reports to the Director of Internal Audit and provides exposure to all areas of the company.  You will be assisting executive management in the review of operations, information technology, and internal controls.


The primary responsibility of the IT Audit Specialist is to plan, organize, conduct, and formally report on audits of operations, internal controls, technology applications and infrastructure.  Determine the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls.  Identify control deficiencies, improvement opportunities and develop recommendations for corrective actions.  Participate in selected systems development initiatives to evaluate the control designs and ensure compliance with the systems development methodology.  Consult with the business unit managers on use of technology or process to improve the internal control environment and to create efficiencies. 


Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a business or computer science field and 3-5 yrs of relevant experience.  Excellent verbal and written communications skills are also required as well as an ability to work with individuals at all levels in an organization.  Insurance/financial services experience and professional certification (CIA, CISA, or CPA) is preferred.
