Internal Bank Audit Examiner

Our client, an organization formed 14 years ago by several Vermont banks to provide compliance, loan review, and internal audit services to small banks in Vermont and New Hampshire, is seeking a part time or full time Internal Audit Examiner.  The position is responsible for establishing audit objectives and formalizing audit plans, evaluating internal control systems and documentation procedures, performing appropriate tests to determine potential exposure to the bank, and reporting findings to management and the board of directors.  In addition, the Internal Audit Examiner assists client banks in developing or enhancing the system of internal controls to better comply with corporate policies and bank regulations, and to properly safeguard the assets of the bank. 

 

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of relevant auditing experience in a community banking environment.  The ability to work independently is essential, as the Audit Examiner schedules, prepares for, and finalizes the audit report from home, and performs field work on-site at client banks in northern Vermont and northern New Hampshire.  Necessary equipment is provided, such as a laptop.The ability to build client trust and develop and maintain a comfortable and professional working relationship with clients is also essential.
