International Freight Auditor

Position Title:

Lead International Auditor

Position Duties:

- Audit international freight and brokerage invoices confirming that international freight invoices received have correct rates applied and are billed to appropriate client. 

- Provide post-entry audit of brokerage invoices to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.

- Review all customs documentation and confirm that correct importer of record, tariff classification, entered value, etc has been used by custom house broker.

- Regular direct contact with clients and carriers for the purpose of resolving invoicing issues and advising of concerns regarding rates and/or compliance.

 

Education/Experience

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college; or more than one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Skills

- Knowledge of international logistics terminology, procedures, and regulations.

- Knowledge of freight invoices and related documentation. 

- Ability to understand and interpret customs entry documentation and to explain these to clients in a manner such that they can be easily understood. 

- Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Knowledge of general accounting principles.
