Location: Chicago - North / Northwest, IL 60606Your location:home   »  find a job   »  advanced search   »  job description Apply Online Send this Job to a Friend Responsibilities: The International Tax Specialists role will entail all international income tax law encompassing such areas as foreign tax research, audits, foreign tax credit optimization, transfer pricing, worldwide tax provision and global legal entity restructuring and reorganization and strategic planning. Manages the preparation of all tax returns, along with required disclosures requiring a high level of technical expertise is an integral requisite. • Direct foreign earnings and profits, deemed paid tax, and foreign/US source income calculations to ensure optimal utilization of foreign tax credits. • Develop transfer-pricing documentation and requisite corporate policies and assist in ensuring those Company personnel coordinate worldwide policies with operations. • Coordinate preparation and conduct technical legal review of all foreign tax returns. Complete worldwide income tax provisions timely and accurately in accordance with FAS 109, Accounting for Income Taxes. • Comprehension of financial ledger and tax software capabilities and processes required to ensure development of efficiencies in reporting and availability of complete and accurate information for analysis and decision-making purposes. • Research and recommend a global tax compliance/data analysis system(s) as necessary. • Coordinate implementation of said system(s) optimizing integration of tax-reporting requirements with existing financial systems to complete worldwide tax compliance and global tax provisions to maximize planning opportunities and earnings per share. • Research multiple issues effectively in all areas of tax law, business operations, global economics and accounting. • Manage foreign tax audits effectively, utilizing necessary research tools. • Participate/complete special project assignments as needed Requirements: • Experienced in the research, interpretation and application of international tax law • Requires technical and management accounting as well as general business operations knowledge • Competent in utilizing standard PC business, tax (research and compliance) and accounting software applications • Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as management, training, mentoring and other interpersonal skills. • Must be able to exercise independent judgment with regards to the application of tax law to effectively minimize liabilities, risks and exposures. • Ability to effect multimillion dollar savings within a proactive tax profit Bachelor’s Degree and CPA or CMA. Master’s of Taxation degree preferred. At least 7 years tax experience in public accounting or in a highly complex multinational environment with knowledge of Federal and International Tax.
