Inventory Control Specialist

20 hours per week  Purpose: To ensure processes and procedures are followed and working as they relate to inventory management at all GBFB warehouse locations.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

1.  Responsible to audit  all inventory procedures at all GBFB locations using best practices as outlined in the GBFB procedure’s manual, accepted auditing standards and America’s Second Harvest guidelines.

2.   Audit GBFB inventory procedures as necessary especially as we transition from yearly physical inventory standards to perpetual inventory standards.

3.  Establish and review performance metrics for all inventory types. Review periodically with management.

4.  Perform daily aisle audits and audits of cycle counts to insure accuracy.

5.  Perform routine receiving, picking and shipping audits.

6.  Audit to insure that short dated and slow moving inventory items and move them through the distribution cycle efficiently.

7.  Audit reconciliation of all inventory discrepancies to management’s satisfaction.

8.  Audit monthly cycle counts / aisle audits at the Cape and Taunton locations

9.  Review dump and destroy reports daily.

10.  Reconcile dump and destroy reports with Waste Management invoices.

11.  Assist in the leadership of the physical inventory process twice a year

12.  Actively participate in the conversion of inventory practice from twice yearly physical to perpetual cycle counts.  

13.  Identify and communicate any inventory concerns or discrepancies in a timely manner to management.

14.  Assist in other Food Bank responsibilities as assigned by Management.

 

Qualifications:



1.  Associates Degree or higher or equivalent work experience.

2.  Flexible work schedule.

3.  Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.?

4.  Current valid driver’s license with good driving record.

5.  Good communication skills both oral and written.

6.  Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail. Accounting experience a plus.

7.  Must be a flexible team player.

8.  Demonstrated facility in Windows computer environment

9.  Crystal reporting experience a plus.

10.  Prior inventory experience a plus

11.  Sense of humor
