Inventory/Cost Accountant

Position duties, qualifications and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing monthly reporting and analysis to management on inventory levels, inventory receipts, inventory turnover and other designated business metrics. Reconciliation of perpetual inventory and aging reports to general ledger, including analysis of monthly variances. Preparation and analysis of monthly inventory reserves Record and analyze capitalization of inventory costs such as freight, discounts, rebates, and expenses associated with company's distribution center Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory Implement cost accounting procedures and methods to ensure accurate and timely reporting of inventory and cost of goods sold Assist with month-end closing reports and inventory valuation reports in accordance with GAAP Reconcile month-end inventory activity and process and support general ledger transactions Determine and implement cost accounting procedures and methods, prepare and analyze cost reports and costing audits, and provide results of analysis to management to aid "make vs. buy" decisions Problem solving skills, ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products Strong organizational and communication skills Detail Oriented Ability to work independently under minimal supervision meet the data requests of key decision makers, planners, and/or external customers in a timely manner by utilizing relevant existing financial information and the appropriate analysis tools Conduct investigation of financial issues (e.g. account variances, cost-center variances or fluctuations, changes in inventory analysis) Comfortable in a team environment with changing priorities and time pressures Strong teamwork, supportive/cooperative attitude Strong work ethic evidenced by a "whatever it takes" attitude to ensure commitments and delivered on-time
