Job Description
The Investment Analyst is an integral part of the Investment Advisory Team and will work with various team members and other areas of the firm to facilitate the analysis and reporting of investment data and manage a variety of investment systems related and trading activities. The firm’s trading involves the ongoing management of the asset and liabilities of retirement plans and working with various trustees and custodians to implement the rebalancing protocal. The data and systems activities include working with the team and others to manage investment-related data (including various platforms, managers/funds, universes and indices) for use in reporting, proposals and presentations, communication materials, and the firm’s various systems (reporting, websites, administration and recordkeeping, etc.).
Requirements:
The successful applicant will have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (business degree with a concentration or concentrations in finance, investments and/or quantitative methods preferred) and will have 2 years experience in investments and quantitative methods, as well as an aptitude for related systems and data. The candidate will have strong computer skills, particularly with MS Office, and will have the ability and willingness to quickly learn new systems and applications. The candidate must also have good written and oral communication skills, as interaction with the team and other areas of the firm is critical to success.
The candidate will work in a fast-paced, demanding environment and will be a “self starter” working continuously under tight deadlines. Through hands on experience, the candidate will have the opportunity to learn from the bottom up about the firm’s investment advisory process/services and the characteristics of various types of plans, markets, asset classes/investment styles and investment managers. The Candidate will be expected to pursue the appropriate securities licenses (Series 6 or 7, 66, etc.) and the CFA designation, with support from the firm but primarily through disciplined self study.
