Investment Analyst Sr/Consultant (Job Family) - IX

Responsible for providing support for the oversight of investment analysis, performance attribution, external management and periodic ad-hoc analyses of WellPoint's investments, including insurance, pension and foundation portfolios. Essential duties to include, but are not limited to: Coordinates with legal and managers for document reviews. Assists in the internal portfolio management and trade settlements. Runs the monthly management reports and prepares the CFO monthly presentation. Runs the manager's performance report and reconciles the performance with managers. Assists in the retirement asset management and prepares committee meeting reports. Assists in venture funds reviews and venture capital reporting. Works closely with the Treasury Accounting group to replace statutory deposits. Assists auditing and accounting departments in obtaining documentation on investments for audits. Files documentation and works on ad-hoc projects.

Essential duties to include, but are not limited to: Manages external investment managers through policy/guideline implementation, strategic asset allocation and by conducting performance attribution and analysis. Conducts ad-hoc portfolio analysis, such as mean-variance efficient frontier studies, risk budgeting and benchmarking. Performs budgeting and forecasting for insurance portfolio net investment income. Conducts manager search and comparison analyses in Pension and Insurance portfolios. Prepares and presents investment presentations and reports to senior management and Pension Investment Committee members. Performs other duties as assigned. BS/BA in Finance, Business or Economics required. 5 years of investment experience required. MBA and/or CFA preferred. Strong analytical skills, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently required. BS/BA in Accounting/Finance/Business/Economics or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MBA and / or progress toward CFA preferred. Minimum 3 - 5 or more years of financial experience. Prior investment experience preferred. Strong analytical skills and good organizational skills. Good communication skills, both written and oral. The ability to work independently required. Strong mathematical abilities preferred
