Business Development Manager

Provide strategic, promotional and business development support to the New York office of one of the nation's leading law firms.
Responsibilities:
As a part of and in collaboration with the marketing department's design, web, PR, data management, proposal writing and presentation/conference support staff, the Regional BDM will assist in the design and execution of business plans and litigation marketing initiatives in such areas as professional liability, antitrust, appellate, arbitration, insurance coverage, IP, employment, mass tort, product liability, white collar crime and securities litigation, among others.
This individual will be expected to help identify trends, research litigation issues, and help lawyers exploit opportunities in selected industries and among major clients. Lawyers will look to the Regional BDM to help with client presentations, respond to RFPs, and create collateral material in both electronic and hard-copy media. The manager will be required to establish and help administer systems to collect, describe, and publicize, internally and externally, examples of dispute resolution successes within the firm.
The manager will report to the office managing partner and Chief Marketing Officer

Qualifications:
Candidate should have outstanding writing and communications skills, and be thoroughly familiar with legal services in general and litigation in particular. Experience working with lawyers is a must. Familiarity with in-house legal departments is a plus, as is experience with CourtLink or other on-line litigation reporting systems. A law degree and/or experience as a paralegal or practicing attorney is not necessary, but may be beneficial. Graphic design and/or web design experience is not necessary, but the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with such support functions.
Compensation:
Dependent upon experience and skills.
