Lease Compliance Analyst:  Finance Department TRANS WORLD ENTERTAINMENT is one of the largest specialty music and video retailers in the United States. The Company currently operates over 800 retail stores in the United States, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico and operates a retail web site at www.fye.com   You may know us under our brand names of F.Y.E., Suncoast brands, Second Spin, etc.  The company offers a wide selection of entertainment products, including CDs, DVDs, video games, boutique/specialty items and related accessories.  The company’s headquarters, along with its main distribution center, is in Albany, NY with an additional distribution center in Carson, CA. Our Lease Accounting Department is seeking an experienced Lease Compliance Analyst to audit monetary lease related obligations for our retail stores and distribution centers.  Responsibilities include accurate interpretation of lease related payments for invoices compared to prior year and trend.  This position will support the Real Estate, Legal and Lease Accounting Departments for lease related payables.   Specific responsibilities include:  Audit/Review and process Landlord’s year end reconciliations, irregular rent charges and escrow increases.  Negotiation and resolution of discrepancies with Landlords/Developers. Resolve and cure defaults related to rent. Assist the Executive Vice President of Real Estate, Real Estate Counsel, and Controller with research, special projects, and preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis. Assist Lease Accounting personnel with compliance/lease related questions and interpretations. Qualifications include: Successful candidates will have a Bachelor Degree and knowledge of Lease Accounting or Lease Audit in a corporate setting.  3 to 5 years experience Lease Compliance in a Mall or Retail environment preferred. Ability to understand Leases and work independently/proactively along with written and verbal communication skills are required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access is also a plus!  Lease Administration software such as Accurate is preferred. Successful candidates will have excellent organizational skills and be very detail oriented.   Trans World Entertainment is dedicated to diversity in the workplace.
