Licensing Technician

Providing quality products and services has been and continues to be our top priority. We now have an opening for a Licensing Technician in our Licensing Department.
The Licensing Technician's responsibility will be to evaluate, contract, to appoint, and uphold agents in compliance of the State Department of Insurane and the Company in an effective and efficient time frame; to develop, maintain,and communicate professional relationships between the company and its agents in a way that is positibe and encourages conservation of future business and loyalty to the company.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Research State Department of Insurance regulations via on-line & maintain a current basic knowledge of the States’ guidelines in licensing & appointing agents.
2. Review agent contracting forms upon submission to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Process reports such as debit-checks, credit checks, background checks, and National Insurance Producer checks to identify and evaluate agents’ character to represent insurance sales for the Company.
4. Create agent entries in system (Lifepro) by entering required information including agents’ license information, appointment information, address, email, direct deposit, and hierarchy setup.
5. Process agent appointments with the states electronically and follow up for verification of state approval.
6. Maintain and update agents’ files by processing renewals, terminations, non-resident appointments, address changes, direct deposits, hierarchy changes, and E&O updates.
7. Provide excellent communication with both internal and external customers through the use of letters, phone calls, or emails.
8. Perform quality checks on associates’ contracting to ensure quality assurance.
Associated Duties
Include things done infrequently or else things that are not essential. Nonessential functions are duties that may be passed or redistributed in the event an incumbent or applicant is disabled. List the most important responsibilities and duties first.
1. Participate in the completion of special projects as assigned.
2. Perform backup support to associates when needed.
3. Update manuals with current procedures or changed State regulations.
4. Cross-train within the department to become familiar with other job duties.
5. Maintain knowledge of GAFRI companies.
Additional Requirements:
High School Diploma. LOMA courses a plus. 1-2 years general office experience.
Other specific Knowledge, Skills, and Experience required.
Ability to effectively prioritize work.Ability to multi-taskAbility to work under pressure and time constraints.Effectively written and verbal communication skills.Well organized & detail oriented.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Intermediate level of proficiency in Excel & Microsoft Word.
