Manager, Client Accounting Services, Palo Alto

Our Client Accounting Services practice offers individuals and businesses of all sizes a full range of services, including options to compliment and complete our clients’ internal accounting and administration needs. We provide assurance services in the form of financial statement audits, reviews and compilations as well as tax compliance and tax planning services for our small to mid-size private enterprise clients and their owners.  We also provide assistance in all areas of payroll, sales tax, property tax and other business tax reporting requirements. If our clients need the services of a full-blown accounting department, but in a more cost effective manner, they can outsource services, from controllers to full charge bookkeepers, through BPM. Responsibilities  Oversee, supervise and manage multiple accounting services to our clients Be able to prepare business entity income tax returns In charge responsibilities for small to mid-size private company audits, reviews, compilations Responsible for managing most of the day to day accounting for multiple clients Assist in month-end close to include A/P, A/R, journal entries, account reconciliations and assisting in preparation of financial statements. Set budgets, select staff and assign workloads, and financial reporting. Develop and maintain client relationships, thus driving clients' satisfaction Research, understand and apply complex accounting concepts and auditing procedures Develop, motivate and mentor staff by providing training, regular feedback and career guidance while fostering a team environment Draft and assist in the delivery of proposals for engagements by knowing the range of firm services Participate in special projects for our clients that provide further growth and learning experiences Qualifications Minimum 5 years related experience in public accounting - experience in a corporate accounting environment a plus BS/BA degree, accounting preferred Demonstrated leadership/supervisor experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Competently analyzes and prioritizes information to make appropriate recommendations Ability to synthesize all forms of research into clear, thoughtful, actionable deliverables Understands client needs, identifies root causes of problems, and implements pragmatic solutions COMPANY: Burr, Pilger & Mayer LOCATION: Palo Alto, CA 94306 STATUS: Full Time, Employee JOB CATEGORY: Accounting/Finance/Insurance WORK EXPERIENCE: 5+ to 7 Years CAREER LEVEL: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) EDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor's Degree COMPANY: Burr, Pilger & Mayer
